The northwestern Negev is on a path of an internationally important migration route for birds passing between Africa and Europe/Asia. Every spring and autumn thousands of storks, cranes and birds of prey pass through this region. In addition to this, the agricultural fields attract many wintering birds from central and eastern Europe, and the whole area is considered to be exceptional for the numbers and variety of wintering birds of prey. Imperial Eagles, Saker and Lanner Falcons, and Sociable Plover are among the most sought after species by visiting birdwatchers. For accommodation in the area click here. |
